Here at Taterpatch Acres we try to keep a clean herd. Not only for us, but for YOU as well! We currently test for Cl, CAE and Johne's.
We work hard to manage parasites in ALL of our goats. We practice rotational grazing so our goats always have fresh forage in our pastures. Summertime they are in thick timber which gives them a lot of browse. We do not like to deworm our goats unless it is absolutely necessary. We keep detailed data on those in need of deworming. Since this is a heritable trait any multiple occurrences will be culled. We also do Culling here on our farm if the Doe doesn't have Quality Maternal Instincts. Culling is hard but it improves the herd!
We strive to have good weaning weights and good Average Daily Gain (ADG). This is important data we use when evaluating our herd Sires, Does, and their Kids. The faster the Kids get to market weight the better!
